Clogherhead Polar Plunge 3rd December 2016 for Special Olympics

Please see below from Special Olympics regarding their upcoming event.

It’s that time of year again and we are looking for people to participate in this year’s Polar Plunge events which will take place on the 3rd of December at Clogherhead Beach.

Would you consider getting “Freezin for a Reason!” in order to raise funds for Special Olympics Leinster? Last year the Clogherhead event alone raised over €11,000 for our cause and this would not have been possible without the support and generosity of our plungers. Any support you can give these events would be much appreciated and if you could spread the word to friends, family and colleagues even better.

It will be a fun and festive event again this year, we will have special guests, music to keep our spirits up on the day and complimentary hot drinks and goodies for plungers. The Coast Guard helicopter will be flying over the event to see all the brave souls taking the icy plunge. We will also be joined on the day by Bear Chills our Polar Bear Mascot who is currently documenting his preparation for the Polar Plunges around the country and you can follow him at https://www.facebook.com/SpecialOlympicsIreland/ .

You can register online now at https://community.specialolympics.ie/polar-plunge-clogherhead and the registration fee is €15. We would then ask you to commit to raising another €35, to receive your ‘ice cool’ t-shirt. We can send you sponsorship cards or you can raise the money online through Everyday Hero. We have some great prizes this year for the ‘Highest Individual Fundraiser’, ‘Highest Student Fundraiser’ and ‘Best Costume’ including restaurant vouchers, entertainment passes and gift cards.

Your Regional Fundraiser is Louise Duffy and she can be contacted on 01 869 1660 or louise.duffy@specialolympics.ie
