Volunteers are the backbone of sport in Ireland, supporting clubs, programmes, events, and communities across the country. To ensure volunteering in sport is inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the diversity of our communities, Sport Ireland, in partnership with S3 Solutions, has launched a national survey to better understand people’s experiences of volunteering in sport.
Importantly, this survey is open to everyone — whether you:
- Currently volunteer in sport
- Have volunteered in the past
- Have never volunteered but might consider it in the future
Your perspective matters, and your input will help shape how volunteering opportunities are designed, promoted, and supported across Irish sport.
Why Take Part?
The aim of this research is to help create a more diverse and inclusive volunteering environment by identifying:
- Barriers that prevent people from volunteering
- What motivates individuals to get involved
- How sports organisations can better support and value volunteers
By sharing your experiences, you can help ensure that volunteering in sport is welcoming, flexible, and accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Take the Survey
The survey is short, anonymous, and your responses will directly inform future policy and practice in Irish sport.

Louth Local Sports Partnership encourages clubs, volunteers, parents, participants, and community members to take a few minutes to share their voice and help strengthen the future of volunteering in sport.
Together, we can help diversify the volunteer base and ensure sport continues to thrive in communities across Ireland.
