Louth Local Sports Partnership are delighted to announce the opening of a brand new cross county programme SportUile, a programme in conjunction with Meath Local Sports Partnership aimed to develop sport and physical activity specifically in the Drogheda and East Meath area.

Thursday 16th of October held the ribbon cutting ceremony with Minister for Sport and Postal Policy Charlie McConalogue, representatives from both Louth County Council and Meath County Council, representatives from An Garda SΓ­ochΓ‘na Louth, Drogheda United F.C. and Sport Ireland Director of Participation Louise Burke.

The programme will be headquartered at Lourdes Stadium and will serve as a hub for sport and physical activity development, promoting awareness in the community and engaging with key stakeholders.

This is a fixed term contract for an initial period of 3 years. Hours of work will be 35 hours per week. The salary for this post will be aligned to LA Grade V Salary Scale commensurate with experience.

The SportUile Senior Community Sports Development Officer will foster and encourage a culture of Active Participation, supporting opportunities for and access to sport and physical activity in the local communities of East Meath and Drogheda, paying particular attention to the development of initiatives for cross community engagement & participation; volunteer development & full utilisation of and access to local resources.

The candidate shall have:

  • A recognised qualification at degree level or equivalent in sports development/community development/youth leadership or similar.
  • Those presenting with a qualification in Community Development or Youth Leadership or similar must be able to demonstrate minimum 3 years working experience in the area of sports development.
  • Experience of working in a sports development environment is essential (3 years or more)
  • Excellent financial, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Candidate must hold a full clean driving licence and have own transport.
