Local Sports Partnerships (LSP) Network

The Local Sports Partnership (LSP) network is a national initiative led by Sport Ireland. Its mission is to increase participation in sport and physical activity in every community across Ireland. With 29 Local Sports Partnerships, one in each county the network supports individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to lead healthier, more active lives.

What Do Local Sports Partnerships Do?

Local Sports Partnerships work at a community level to create opportunities for people to be more physically active. Each LSP partners with local clubs, schools, community groups, and public bodies to deliver a wide range of inclusive programmes and supports.

Key areas of work include:

Supporting Clubs, Coaches & Volunteers
Offering training, education, and resources to build capacity at grassroots level.

Delivering Inclusive Programmes
Providing targeted activities for older adults, people with disabilities, ethnic minority groups, and those in disadvantaged areas.

Raising Awareness
Promoting the benefits of sport & physical activity through campaigns, events, and education initiatives.

Community Engagement
Hosting local events and walks and supporting community groups to develop physical activity opportunities.
