Xcessible Club Toolkit: Supporting Inclusive and Accessible Sports Clubs

Louth Local Sports Partnership is committed to creating opportunities for everyone to participate in sport and physical activity. As part of this commitment, we are encouraging clubs across Louth to engage with the Xcessible Club Toolkit, developed by Active Disability Ireland.

The Xcessible Club Toolkit is a free, practical resource designed to support sports clubs to become more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. It helps clubs to reflect on current practices and identify simple, achievable actions that can make a meaningful difference to participation.

Clubs can work through the toolkit at their own pace, whether they are just beginning their inclusion journey or looking to strengthen existing inclusive practices.

What does the Xcessible Club Toolkit offer?

The toolkit provides clubs with:

  • Clear and practical guidance on disability inclusion
  • Simple checklists to review club accessibility
  • Tips on creating welcoming and inclusive environments
  • Supports to help reduce barriers to participation

By using the toolkit, clubs can build confidence, improve accessibility and ensure more people across Louth feel welcome to get involved in sport and physical activity in their local community.

Who is the toolkit for?

The Xcessible Club Toolkit is suitable for:

  • Sports clubs and committees in Louth
  • Coaches, volunteers and club officers
  • National Governing Bodies and community sport providers
