Louth Local Sports Partnership are offering Transition Year students the chance to participate in the Level 1 Qualification Sports Leadership from the March 2017.
The Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership provides the ideal starting point for Transition Year students who wish to develop their leadership skills. The course will be delivered by tutors trained by the Irish Sports Council.
The syllabus is designed to develop generic leadership skills that can be applied to a variety of sports and/or recreational situations as well as contributing to the personal development of the learner. The Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership is a practical award in which learners must demonstrate their ability to lead others in simple sport/activity.
The qualification is based on the Sports Leader UK awards

The Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership consists of two primary units of learning including one hour demonstration of leadership:
The qualification will take approximately 18-20 guided learning hours. We are proposing to deliver two courses one in Dundalk Sports Centre, Muirhevna Mor, Dundalk and one in The Coca Cola Community Centre, Drogheda. The Dundalk course will start on the 27th of March and will run on the 27th, 28th of March and 04th, 5th April 2017. The Drogheda course will start on 25th April and will run on 25th, 27th April and 2nd , 4th May 2017
The cost will be €20 per student for the entire Level 1 qualification.
